Anna Drawing her Friends

A few recent pictures of Anna, and a video of her drawing herself with friends from preschool – Sophia and Madeline. (They are hiding under a cave in a hidden place.)

I don’t know why the last picture is upside down, sorry.

Anna Ice Skating

Anna tried ice skating for the first time today, and she really liked it. She was pretty comfortable on the skates, and just sort of shuffled around by herself.

We’ve also finally ditched sippy cups (mostly) and started preschool, so Anna’s feeling like a big kid!

Drawing our Family

Anna continues drawing and writing up a storm. Her favorite word to write is “HOOT,” since she can write those letters very well. Maria found anĀ easel, and Anna has loved having that around so she can draw any time. Here’s a video of her drawing the whole family (and also fighting a cold).

Anna Singing

Here are two videos of Anna singing. First, in the Rathskeller, a dining hall in the UW-Madison Union (it was empty, I swear).

And second, in the living room.

I like how she’s out of breath at the end.

Anna’s First Letter

We’ve tried to encourage Anna to draw letters before, but she’s never figured it out. This morning she was playing with some letter magenets with Maria, and she declared that she wanted to draw some i’s. Without any instruction, she got out her markers and drew these three wonderful i’s.

I asked her about it as she ate a banana this morning, and she explained how to draw an i.

A New Swing

I’ve got a few random things to share here. First, a couple of shots with Grandma Lolo and Grandpa Dan from Pier day 2014.

And here’s a video of Anna making up a song in the car.

And here are some pictures and a video with the new swing in the backyard!

Anna Looking Grown up

Maria put Anna’s hair up in a ponytail, and I feel like she suddenly looked much older. It’s funny to look at these pictures, it seems like you can start to see what she’ll look like when she’s four. Here are a few photos – Ponytail Album.

But she also did this tonight, so she isn’t entirely grown up just yet.

Anna Building Robots and other things

I got out the camera because Anna was doing this weird thing where she licks her finger, then uses her spit to draw letters on the leather rocking chair seat. (She does this from time to time, I have no idea where she got the idea.) But we quickly pivoted into building a robot.

At the end of this one, there’s also a round of quiet monster / loud monster, which is one of my favorite games.
