This was Maria’s second ultrasound, performed at week 9 of her pregnancy. Here you can start to see a little definition in the arms & legs. The doctor told us that these were called “limb nubs*”. It was from this that the baby earned its nickname – Little Nubs.

This ultrasound was exciting because we actually saw Nubs swing his or her arm around a little bit!

*Correction from Maria: the doctor called them “limb buds,” but Dave keeps getting it wrong, which is where the nickname Little Nubs (aka Little Nubbins, or Lil’ Nubs) comes from.
